World history and civilization from the pre-historic age up to the present through the presentation of the relationship and evolution of social conditions, economics, politics, arts and culture, religion and ideologies; world views, criteria for ethical actions; objectives in life; methods of reasoning; significant information sources; research methodology; the acquisition of knowledge from the sources mentioned.

10131 Man and Society

Man's behavior and relationships in society; structure of society, its changes and evolution; work mechanisms and relationships of political, legal and economic systems as well as foreign influences on these systems; the role of mass media in society; changes of population and problems caused by the increase in population; research into social problems and their effects on national development; important current social problems in Thailand in order to understand and comprehend these inter-relating factors.

10141 Science and Society

Fundamental knowledge and techniques in reading; polysemy of Thai words; characteristics of various types of writing; characteristics of effective and ineffective writing; practice in rewriting sentences, phrases and paragraphs by employing examples from newspapers, notices, advertisements, short stories, translated stories, and articles.
Practice in reading for main ideas, and reading for gist; analyzing the writer's premise; summarizing the writer's argument; and distinguishing facts from opinions or feelings in various types of writing and academic articles.

10203 Human Behavior

Mechanics of feelings, recognition, learning, recollection, thinking, and desire, which govern the individual's actions and determine his personality; personality differences; an individual's behavioral development according to age and social experience; an individual's behavior upon joining a social group; the mechanics of human behavior in society; basic necessities in group life; the organization of social order in terms of social protocol, with the exclusion of natural order; biological view; the influence and power of the group over the individual; the individual's role in constructing, resisting and changing social order.
