STOU Regional Center in Phetchaburi Opens Agricultural Project


On 27 November 2012, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jinda Khlibtong, Vice-President for Educational Services, led STOU’s Regional Distance Education Center (RDEC) in Phetchaburi in a ceremony marking the beginning of their project developing a learning resource on the King’s sufficiency economy philosophy. RDEC-Phetchaburi is joining in this project with residents of a village in Phetchaburi province that has successfully been practicing organic agriculture and adhering to sufficiency economy principles. The Director of RDEC-Phetchaburi is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boontip Siritarungsri. She and her staff were joined by villagers and about 400 school and university students in a Thai harvesting tradition called kiao khao, which consists of neighbors and acquaintances coming together to help area farmers harvest their rice.
