  Applicant Qualifications
 

1.

Graduated Masterís Degree in the field of Communication Arts or a related field or an equivalent qualification from an educational institution, and the applicant must have earned a grade point average of at least 3.25 out of 4;

 

2.

Competence in English language to the standard required by the University, which could be a TOEFL 500 score or a score of 173 on the Computer Based Test or a score of 62 on the Internet Based Test or IELTS 5.5 or an equivalent score on another testing system;

 

3.

A clearly stated dissertation proposal; and

 

4.

A record of past work experience, publications, work results or projects as suitable for the course of study, as well as a clear plan to apply the knowledge gained from the program to work after graduation; or

 

5.

Approved by the Sukhothai Thammathirat Open Universityís Academic Senate as competent and qualified to enroll in the program.

 

  Note:   Applicants who meet qualifications 1) through 6) above must not have any disease that would be an undue hindrance to their studies and must never have previously had their student status from the university suspended due to bad behavior. If a student was once suspended for bad behavior but the offense was not intentional or was due to negligence or has reason to be pardoned, he or she may request to be re-instated upon the approval of the Academic Senate once a full 5 years have passed from the date of suspension.

Note:  1. The qualified applicant must also be free from any disease or medical condition that would impair his or her ability to study and must never have been expelled from the university or any other institution of higher learning on account of bad behavior.
              2. The applicant should have sufficient English and computer skills to be able to conduct research.
