STOU is located in Pakkret district of Nonthaburi Province. To get to our campus:
By Public Transportation
Take the BTS Skytrain to Victory Monument. Exit onto the skywalk going north, and make your way to the northwest (far left as you walk north from the station) section of the traffic circle and wait for bus number 166. Bus 166 goes on the expressway for about 15 minutes, then alternates between two routes: one goes all the way to STOU, and the other only passes the turnoff to the university. Make sure the fare collector knows that you are going to Sukhothai Thammathirat (you can also give the Thai abbreviation: “mo so to”). You will either be taken to STOU, or you will be directed to get off the bus on Chaengwattana Road at road going to STOU. If this happens, cross Chaengwattana, then take a motorcycle back to the university. Alternatively, wait for a white songthaew (modified pickup truck) with a large numeral on the front. Tell the driver your destination before you board, and they will stop at the university gate, where you should pay the driver before entering the university.
First check that the driver is willing to take you to your destination. Say you want to go to Sukhothai Thammathirat (Thai abbreviation: “mo so to”), near Chaengwattana Road. A well-known nearby landmark is the IMPACT Arena. Taxis in Thailand are required by law to use a meter, so you don’t need to negotiate a rate before you leave. In Thailand, the customer usually pays all highway toll charges. It’s a good idea to have the address with you, as well as some simple Thai directions.
