Interviewer: What did you want to accomplish when you were young?
Interviewer: Where did you study? What did you learn from school?
You:I went to government schools in the UK where we gained an all-round education.
Interviewer: What books did you read when you were young? Did they inspire you in any way?
You:
I read adventure stories and children’s classics, which made me want
to lead a similar life, and got me interested in foreign countries.
Interviewer: What do you think is the most important qualification for a person to be successful?
You: I think patience and determination, so as not to be put off by barriers
and problems that arise.
Interviewer: What do your life experiences tell you?
You: That dealing with people is the most difficult problem, and if you can communicate
with others well then you can have a full and interesting life.
Interviewer: Tell us more about your childhood. What books were important to you as a kid?
You: We used to call them ‘the classics’; books like Robin Hood, Ivanhoe, 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, Last of the Mohicans, the Man Who Laughs, many had a strong moral to them.
Interviewer: Looking ahead 10 years, what do you think you will be up to then?
You: I suspect I’ll not be a famous musician, so I hope I’ll be enjoying a rich and trouble-free life somewhere.
