CCDKM Wins Awards from UNESCO and ITU/UNWOMEN





On 30 November 2015, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kamolrat Intaratat, Executive Director of The Research Center of Communication and Development Knowledge Management (CCDKM) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyachat Lomchavakarn, Deputy Director of CCDM received the Honorable Commendation Wenhui Award for Asia-Pacific Educational Innovation from UNESCO APEID, National Commission of the People’s Republic of China for UNESCO and the Chinese Society of Education. The ceremony was held in Xiamen, the People’s Republic of China.  

Moreover, on 14 December 2015, CCDKM won the Annual ITU and UN Women Gem-Tech Award for applying technology for women’s empowerment from International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and UNWOMEN at New York City, The United State of America.

CCDKM was established in 2006 under the Institute for Research and Development   and the School of Communication Arts, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University. It aims to bridge the digital divide, increase the social and economic impact of information and communication technologies (ICTs) at the grassroots level and in marginalized communities in Thailand and the ASEAN region as well as to promote media development in the region and e-learning initiatives.
