School of Liberal Arts Hosts Three Seminars on Information Science




On 8 August 2013, the Department of Information Science of the School of Liberal Arts hosted a seminar titled “Current Update of LIS Education: Issues and Trends” with special guest lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdullahi from North Carolina Central University in the United States of America. Dr. Abullahi also led a seminar on 10–11 August 2013, titled “Internationalization of LIS Institution, Research and Service to the Profession and Community”. Altogether, about 70 people attended Dr. Abdullahi’s presentations on these days.

Then on 13 August, the Department of Information Science organized another seminar, titled “Trends in US Librarianship and Information Science Education”, by Asst. Prof. Barbara Stripling of Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies from the United State of America.
