On 29 April 2014, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University, through the School of Educational Studies, organized an orientation event at Bangkwang Central Prison in Nonthaburi for the first 20 prisoners registering a Master of Education Program in Guidance and Psychological Counseling, which was under the memorandum of understanding between STOU and the Department of Corrections. This event was honored by Assistant Professor Dr. Annop Jeenawathana, Dean of the STOU School of Educational Studies, giving an opening speech and Mrs. Pornthip Choksamai, Director of Bureau of Rehabilitation Department of Corrections who welcomed them together with staff of Bureau of Rehabilitation.
