On 26 March 2014, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University (STOU) hosted a video conference with University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) in the Republic of Philippines. This project was held under the Memorandum of Understanding between two universities in order to share knowledge on the topic of “The Learning Directions and Educational Assessments via Online System” and to extend academic networks with STOU and UPOU specialists in this field.

At the beginning of the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Chailerd Pichitpornchai, President of STOU, and Professor Dr. Grace J. Alfonso, President of UPOU, presented their vision on learning and educational assessments via online system. Moreover, the event was honored by representatives from STOU who were Associate Professor Dr. Alisa Vanijdee and Mr. Trevor John Smith from the School of Liberal Arts, and Dr. Khajitpan Kritpolviman, from the School of Science and Technology, and from UPOU Assistant Professor Dr. Consuelo dL. Habito and Assistant Professor Dr. Joane V. Serrano, sharing their experiences.
