Doctor Level

Doctor of Philosophy Program in Agricultural Extension and Development

  Applicant Qualifications
 
1.
Hold a master’s degree in agricultural extension, agricultural development, a field related to agriculture, or others from a university or higher educational institution accredited by Office of the Higher Education Commission;
 
2.
Have work experience related to agricultural extension, agricultural development or other agricultural fields at least three years;
 
3.
Have a grade point average for the master’s degree of 3.50 out of 4; and
 
4.

Pass English language test as specified by the School of Agricultural and Cooperatives and approved by the Graduate Committees of Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University, the test score should not be over two years until the date of application.

  Remark:   1) Applicants who have completed a master’s degree in another field that is not agricultural extension or agricultural development will be required to take additional course as specified by the university.
 

                 2) Applicants with a master’s degree grade point average of less than 3.50, may still be accepted for admission after consideration of working experience and may be required to take additional courses as specified by the university.

                   3) Applicants who meet the above requirements, should not have any diseases which affect their study, and must not have been expelled from another university for misbehavior. If a students was once suspended for bad behavior but the offense was not intentional or was due to negligence or has reason to pardoned, he or she may request to be re-instated upon the approval of the Academic Senate once a full 5 years have passed from the date of suspension.

Doctor of Philosophy Program in Crop Production Management and Development

  Applicant Qualifications
 
1.
Hold a Master’s degree in agriculture or related field or other fields approved by the university council from any accredited university;
 
2.
At least 3 years of working experience in agriculture or related field;
 
3.
The minimum cumulative Grade Points Average (GPA) requirement for admission to the doctoral program is 3.50 at the Master's degree level from a 4 grade point average or equivalent; and
 
4.

Pass the English test required by the School of Agriculture and Cooperatives and approved by the graduate committees of Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University. The result of the English test is valid for 2 years from the date of application to study at Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University.

  Remark:   1) Applicants without a Master's degree in agriculture or agricultural management and development, has to study more courses assigned by the university.
 

                 2) Applicants with a GPA at the Master’s degree level of less than 3.5 may be accepted by considering experiences gained and may have to study additional courses assigned by the university.

                   3) The applicants, who are qualified all qualifications mentioned above, must not contract any disease which hinders their studying and must not be expelled from other university because of misbehavior. If the action was done unintentionally or carelessly, the applicant may be approved by the university council to study again after 5 years of the expulsion date.

Master of Agriculture Program in Agricultural Extension and Development

1.
Hold a bachelor’s degree in agricultural extension, agricultural development, a field related to agriculture, or others from a higher educational institution accredited by Office of the Higher Education Commission;
 
2.
Have work experience related to agricultural extension, agricultural development or other agricultural fields at least one years; and
 
3.
Have a grade point average for the master’s degree of 2.50. If applicants with a master’s degree grade point average of less than 2.50, may still be accepted for admission after consideration of working experience and may be required to take additional courses as specified by the university.
 
Remark:  1) Applicants with a GPA at the bachelor’s degree level of less than 2.5 may be accepted by considering experiences gained and may have to study additional courses assigned by the university.
                  2) The applicants, who are qualified all qualifications mentioned above, must not contract any disease which hinders their studying and must not be expelled from other university because of misbehavior. If the action was done unintentionally or carelessly, the applicant may be approved by the university council to study again after 5 years of the expulsion date.

A bachelor’s degree in an agriculture-related field or another field; and
 
2.
Have a grade point average for the master’s degree of 2.50. If applicants with a master’s degree grade point average of less than 2.50, may still be accepted for admission after consideration of working experience and may be required to take additional courses as specified by the university.
  Remark:  Applicants who have completed a bachelor’s degree in another field that is not agriculture will be required to take an additional course, course number 95729 Basic Knowledge in Agriculture.
 

Master' Level

Master of Business Administration Program in Co-operatives

  Degree: Master of Business Administration (Co-operatives)
  Abbreviation: M.B.A. (Co-operatives)
  Applicant Qualifications
 
1.
A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from other universities or higher education institutions recognized by University Council;
 
2.
Grade point average for a bachelor’s degree of 2.30 out of 4 or the equivalent;
 
3.
If applicants with a master’s degree grade point average of less than 2.30, may still be accepted for admission after consideration of working experience and may be required to take additional courses as specified by the university;
 
4.
Knowledge of English sufficient for studying printed materials; evidence of proficiency my provided; or
 
5.
Applicants should have sufficient competence in English language and in computer skills to perform the required research for the program;
 
6.
The applicants, who are qualified all qualifications mentioned above, must not contract any disease which hinders their studying and must not be expelled from other university because of misbehavior. If the action was done unintentionally or carelessly, the applicant may be approved by the university council to study again after 5 years of the expulsion date.
