Examination Centers

To make assessment affordable and convenient for students, STOU has set up at least one examination center in each province, though many provinces have more than one site. Inmates of corrective institutions who have been granted permission to register as students may take their examinations in their respective institutions. STOU students residing abroad are able to take examinations at the local Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate. Local study center personnel and university staff members coordinate in supervising the examinations.

Examination Schedule

Since STOU does not want students to give up their work or leave aside their official duties, examinations are held on weekends and are arranged so that they can be completed in two days. Final examinations are held at the end of each semester, and a subsequent of make-up examinations for students who failed or missed the final examinations. 

Examination Results

Approximately 30-45 days after each examination, the Office of Registration, Records and Evaluation will mail students a list of the examination results. Students may also find their results through the following:

Criteria for Evaluation
  • Master’s Degree

For master’s degree programs the university evaluates students from the results of the following:

  • Assigned work
  • Semester examinations
  • Thesis examinations for Plan A or comprehensive and independent study examinations for Plan B
  • Graduate Professional Experience workshop
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Course blocks are divided into two types: theory courses and practical courses. Written examination results make up at least 80% of the grade for theory courses. For practical courses, grading is based on the makeup and requirements of each individual course.

In considering courses taken in order to complete program requirements, the university calculates only those courses that the student completes with level H or S grades. An H grade has a value of 4.00 per course while an S grade has a value of 2.30 per course.
