STOU attended the 33rd AAOU Annual Conference at Lahore, Pakistan
On 14-16 October 2019, Prof. Dr. Prasart Suebka, STOU Acting President, led the STOU delegation to join the 33rd Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) at Lahore, Pakistan.
The 33rd AAOU Annual Conference, hosted by Virtual University of Pakistan, happened with “Open Distance Learning: 2020 and Beyond” as the main theme. The Conference featured
a number of keynote speakers, including AAOU President – Prof. Melinda Dp. Bandalaria, Commonwealth of Learning President & CEO – Prof. Asha S. Kanwar, and UNESCO/ICDE Chair in OER – Prof. Rory Mcgreal among others. The conference also brought together over 100 foreign delegates and over 450 Pakistani scholars, who presented their research papers.
STOU delegation included Assoc. Prof. Achara Cheewatragoongit, Acting Vice-President for Financial Affairs and University Assets; Asst. Prof. Dr. Kittipong Keatwatcharachai, Acting Assistant to the President; Asst. Prof. Dr. Sutteeporn Moolsart, Dean of School of Nursing; Asst. Prof. Dr. Somprin Niyomthai, Dean of School of Political Sciences; Asst. Prof. Dr. Santat Thongrin, Director of the Office of Academic Affairs; Asst. Prof. Dr. Wunlapa Sabaiying, Director of the Office of Graduate Studies and Mrs. Rattip Phukkeson, Head of the International Affairs Office. They found the Conference programs very beneficial and enjoyed connecting with colleagues from across the region.
During the visit to Pakistan, the STOU delegation also had the opportunity to visit the University of Punjab and Allama Iqbal Open University, where different experiences of the faculty members and staff were shared.
