Student Cultural Exchange Program at the Open University of China

    On 12–15 December 2019, Associate Professor Dr. Thapanat Prom-In, Acting Vice-President for Academic Services and Community Engagement, led a group of faculty, staff, and students on a visit to the Open University of China (OUC) for a Student Cultural Exchange Program. The purpose of the program is to enable STOU students to gain professional experience, valuable knowledge and language skills as well as to develop leadership ability and exchange knowledge with lecturers and students.

    Throughout the four-day program, the students enjoyed on and off campus activities arranged. The on-campus programs included a lecture on Chinese language and culture, Experiential teaching of ancient Chinese Han Dynasty clothing culture, tie dyeing art, and paper making. Students from both universities also had a chance to perform cultural performances. On their trip off-campus, STOU delegates visited Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, and the Summer Palace.
