2. 1 ใช้คำกริยาให้สอดคล้องกับประธาน

              ประธานของประโยคคือ relationship คำกริยาจึงต้องเป็นเอกพจน์
      The reasons for and implications of these contrasting findings are discussed.
             ประธานของประโยคคือ reasons คำกริยาจึงต้องเป็นพหูพจน์

2.2 ใช้ active หรือ passive voice ให้ถูกต้อง
       รูปคำกริยา active เน้นที่ผู้กระทำ ส่วนรูปคำกริยา passive เน้นที่ผลของการกระทำ
Instead, the impact of media exposure was shaped by viewers’ strength of ethnic identity.
โปรดสังเกตว่าในภาษาไทยไม่นิยมใช้ประโยครูป passive voice
เช่น The descriptive statistics and multiple correlation were used.  

       อย่างไรก็ตามบางครั้ง  ในปัจจุบันผู้เขียนนิยมใช้ active voice ปนกับ passive voice ให้ความรู้สึกเป็นทางการน้อยลงและมีชีวิตชีวามากขึ้น  ดังตัวอย่าง

       Using the context of market orientation, we examine how an exemplary dbusiness’s market orientation culture is reflected in managers mental models, evaluate how mental models and perceived behaviors differ across hierarchical levels and functions, and compare the cognitive values and beliefs or the cognitive aspects of market orientation culture with the behavioral aspects.

2.3 ใช้โครงสร้างประโยคให้ถูกต้อง
       ในการเขียนบทคัดย่อต้องคำนึงถึงลักษณะโครงสร้างประโยคในภาษาอังกฤษ ในการถ่ายทอดความหมาย

2.4 เขียนประโยคตามความคิดหลักและโครงสร้างในภาษาอังกฤษ
       ไม่ควรเขียนประโยคไม่สมบูรณ์  (fragment)  เช่นขึ้นต้นด้วย  which
อาจแปลมาจากภาษาไทยว่าซึ่ง....
เช่น ซึ่งมีผลกระทบทั้งด้านบวกและด้านลบ ใช้ภาษาอังกฤษว่า
Which led to both negative and positive consequences เป็น ประโยคไม่สมบูรณ์  (fragment)

2.5  ถ่ายทอดความหมายจากภาษาไทยเป็นภาษาอังกฤษโดยถ่ายทอดเนื้อหา จัดกลุ่มความคิดก่อนแล้วจึงใช้โครงสร้างภาษาอังกฤษ
       ควรแบ่งเนื้อหาในข้อความภาษาไทยป็นความคิดหลัก เสียก่อน แล้วเขียนประโยคตามโครงสร้างภาษาอังกฤษตามความคิดหลัก แล้วจึงเชื่อมส่วนขยายต่าง ๆ เพื่อให้ประโยคให้สละสลวยภายหลัง

2.6 ใช้โครงสร้างประโยคที่ซับซ้อนเพื่อให้ข้อมูลเนื้อหาที่มีความซับซ้อน
        2.6.1 ใช้ noun clause
          ผลการวิจัยชี้ว่า ....  The results revealed + noun clause (that)
                                            It was found + noun clause (that)  ….
          Noun clause ขึ้นต้นด้วย that ทำหน้าที่เป็นกรรม
